It’s not every day that you do something special for your spouse.  Today is Saturday and I am claiming it as ‘Do Something Loving Today’.  Go out and buy a card or a little gift.  It doesn’t have to be something extravagant, maybe a favorite piece of chocolate, snack or a single rose.  Just go out there and be thoughtful.  When you get home and surprise your spouse with a ‘just because I love you’ gift, he or she will be so touched that you will wonder why you hadn’t thought of it before.

Now if you are in the type of marriage in which your spouse will assume you have done something terribly wrong and you’re just trying to kiss up, then it means that you don’t do this often enough.  Don’t give your spouse a reason to suspect you have been up to something just because you bought a gift.  One day out of the week, I will remind you to do something thoughtful.  Soon your spouse will forget that you only do things like this for a reason other than a simple, ‘I love you’.
